Rosalind Lutece

Rosalind Lutece is a quantum physicist in BioShock Infinite, who wrote books about scientific studies on alternate universes. She and her "twin brother" Robert guide Booker DeWitt through his adventures in Columbia to retrieve Elizabeth. From a young age, Rosalind was curious about the possibility of multiple realities and decided she wanted to be a physicist. Many years later, in the course of experimentation with atoms, she was able to indefinitely suspend an atom in midair. Her colleagues referred to the process as "quantum levitation", while Rosalind herself dubbed it the "Lutece Field". She began to wonder about the possibility of suspending larger objects, up to and including a city. At an indeterminate time, Rosalind met Zachary Hale Comstock, an influential religious figure who took great interest in her work. Comstock agreed to fund Rosalind's continued research into the Lutece Field in return for her help constructing a floating city which he had seen in a premonition. Continued experimentation with the Lutece Field led to Rosalind's first interaction with Robert Lutece, a male version of herself in an alternate reality. By manipulating a pair of quantum entangled atoms, the two were able to communicate across space-time barriers through Morse Code. When she reported this information to Comstock, he instructed her to find a way of accessing such alternate realities, which he believed would act as windows into prophecy. She and Robert then collaborated to make a contraption that allowed them to enter other realities via the Tears. Comstock would use the device extensively to see other realities and predict future happenings. He also later provided access to the Fink brothers, who had already been using Tears to advance technology and music in Columbia by decades. However, the device had an adverse effect on Comstock, aging him rapidly and rendering him sterile.

Bertholdt Hoover (ベルトルト・フーバー Berutoruto Fūbā?) was an Eldian who was part of Marley's Warrior Unit. He originated from the Liberio internment zone and possessed the ability to transform into the Colossal Titan, making him one of the greatest threats to humanity within the Walls. In the year 845, he infiltrated Paradis Island alongside Reiner Braun, Annie Leonhart, and Marcel Galliard as part of an operation to reclaim the Founding Titan. Afterwards, he joined and graduated the 104th Cadet Corps, where he was ranked 3rd in his class. He became a member of the Scout Regiment until his identity as the Colossal Titan was revealed. Bertholdt was described by others as a weak-willed and quiet person. Bertholdt was a rather tall, slender teenage boy. He had short, black hair, pale green eyes, thin eyebrows and an elongated face. He was seen mainly in his cadet uniform, and after he entered the Scout Regiment, he wore their uniform with the green hood on missions. He was also noted by others to always be sweating. In his casual clothes, Bertholdt wore a blue sweater with a white button down underneath and tan pants, though he later switched to a pale blue button down with gray pants. As the Colossal Titan, he possessed a very distinctive appearance and a number of unusual features. He grew to roughly 60 meters tall, making him around four times the height of any other Titan seen thus far (with the only exceptions of Rod Reiss' Titan form and Eren's Founding Titan form).

Rico Brzenska (リコ・ブレツェンスカ Riko Buretsensuka?) is the team leader (班長 Hanchō?) of Squad Rico and a member of the Garrison's 1st Division Elite Forces. She is the only surviving leader of the Alpha Squad assigned to protect Eren Yeager during the liberation of Trost District. Rico is a rather short woman with a small but secure build. She has cheek length dark blonde hair and brown eyes. She wears a small framed pair of glasses held on by bands placed around her head to keep them from falling off during combat. She also wears the typical Garrison uniform with a white button up shirt underneath and during a later mission, she is seen wearing a green Garrison cloak. Rico has a very mixed personality. At first glance, it may appear as though she does not feel sympathy as she was very open to the idea of killing Eren Yeager, Mikasa Ackerman, and Armin Arlert after it was discovered that Eren has the power of the Titans. Rico began to lose her calm demeanor as the Titans gradually wiped out her comrades. However, for the most part, she maintains a composed, leadership role, and bravely cuts a Titan's eye out when it interferes with Eren's carrying the boulder. Once Trost is reclaimed, Rico sits among the wasteland of corpses and begins to shed tears for her fallen comrades, and for the first victory for humanity over the Titans. After a rampaging Titan is revealed to be a trainee, Rico is among the Garrison soldiers who surround him and his allies as Kitz Weilman questions the trainee about the nature of his Titan transformation.[11] Rico stands with Kitz's decision to execute Eren and his comrades, believing that questioning them will be a waste of time. The first attempt to execute the trainees is unsuccessful as Eren uses his Titan form to stop the cannon fire that is intended to kill him, and a second attempt is stopped by the intervention of Dot Pixis.

Dina Fritz (ダイナ・フリッツ Daina Furittsu?) was the first wife of Grisha Jaeger, a member of the Restorationists, and, before having her son Zeke, the last descendant of the royal family living in Marley. She was caught for treason against Marley and was turned into the Abnormal Titan that would later eat her husband's second wife, Carla Jaeger. Dina was a small woman; petite in her frame and relatively short. Her eyes were large and light in color as was her fair skin. Dina's blonde hair passes her cheekbones but does not reach her shoulders and is kept parted down the middle. It is a bit longer in the back than it is in the front and has some layers to it. Dina usually wore a long ankle-length skirt with a white button-up blouse, but could be seen wearing a cloak or a black coat over top sometimes. She has also paired this with a scarf over her hair and head. Like all other residents of the internment zone, she was forced to wear a white armband on her left arm with the symbol that indicates she is an Eldian. When taking a family photo, Dina was seen with her hair in an up-do, keeping her bangs still middle-parted but pinned back. For this formal occasional she wears a long dress, light into color, with thick cuffs around the wrists with frills embroidered around the neck and chest area. Dina's Pure Titan was very tall and, like most regular Pure Titans, resembled a male human. Its main distinguishing feature was its characteristic smile, in which its lips are fixed wide open, exposing its teeth and gums at all times. Dina's Pure Titan had a thin, emaciated frame with stocky proportions, in which its ribs were visibly apparent, and it possessed an unusually-long neck. It had medium-length, light hair that only barely reached down to its neck and featured small, deeply sunken gray eyes.

Impa (pronounced /ˈɪm.pə/ IM-pə or /ˈɪm.pɑː/ IM-pah) is the family name of several female members of the Sheikah, a mysterious tribe that has served and protected the Royal Family of Hyrule for many generations. Many Sheikah of the name so far have been associated with and taken on the role of accompanying an incarnation of Princess Zelda, being like a bodyguard or attendant of sorts in some games. In addition, every Impa throughout The Legend of Zelda series has given extensive information and guidance to the various incarnations of Link they encounter in their time. In the original The Legend of Zelda, Impa appears in the game as an Old Woman, however she is only named in the game's instruction manual. When Hyrule was under attack by Ganon's forces in The Legend of Zelda, Princess Zelda ordered her old nursemaid Impa to secretly flee and find the one who could save them. Ganon soon found out and sent his minions after Impa. Though she managed to stay out of their reach for a long time, she was eventually captured. However, she was saved by a strange boy named Link who managed to chase away Ganon's henchmen. Knowing that this was the one she had been looking for, Impa told him the whole story and asked him to go save Princess Zelda, therefore starting his adventure.

Rauru, also known as Kaepora Gaebora when in his owl form, is a recurring character in The Legend of Zelda series. He is one of the ancient Sages of Hyrule, specifically the Sage of Light. During the Era of Chaos and shortly before the Kingdom of Hyrule was established by the royal descendants of the goddess Hylia's mortal incarnation, Rauru built the Temple of Time over the remains of the Sealed Temple that was located deep within the Faron Woods in the Faron Province. In doing this, he protected the Triforce from the chaotic Interloper War being fought over its ownership at the time. Rauru named the temple after the Temple of Time from the legends of the events of Skyward Sword about a hero who had wielded the Master Sword and traveled between two time periods. He chose to remain within the Temple of Light, situated in the center of the Sacred Realm, only leaving it in the form of the massive, wise and watchful owl known as Kaepora Gaebora. Knowledge of the Sacred Realm passed onto the Sheikah tribe and Rauru's name faded into obscurity. In the events of Ocarina of Time, after Link defeats Gohma in a failed attempt to save the Great Deku Tree, he leaves the Kokiri Forest and has his first encounter with Rauru, who awaits him in his owl form as Kaepora Gaebora at the edge of the woods. The owl gives him encouragement on the adventure the Great Deku Tree has tasked him with and advises him to visit Princess Zelda at Hyrule Castle before leaving with a promise that they will meet again.

Zofia (ゾフィア Zofia?) was an Eldian Warrior candidate (戦士候補生 Senshi Kōho-sei?) fighting in the Marleyan military. Before her death, she was a candidate to inherit the Armored Titan power. Zofia was a girl of medium height with a slim build. She had an oval face with a pale complexion, deep-set blue eyes, a Greek nose, and gray-brown hair tied into a ponytail with straight bangs hanging over the forehead. She also often held a serious expression on her face. Like her fellow Warrior candidates, Zofia wore the standard Marleyan soldier uniform consisting of a white jacket and pants, supply packs on the hip, suspender straps, a hard hat with a stripe around it, and knee-high black combat boots. As an Eldian, her uniform was different from that of the Marleyans, as her shirt collar had a small badge with the Eldian star instead of a small clip and her hat had a white stripe with the Eldian star on it instead of a pure black stripe. As is law in Marley, Zofia also wore the Eldian armband as all her family and ancestors residing there did as well.

Kyomi Azumabito

Kiyomi Azumabito (キヨミ・アズマビト Kiyomi Azumabito?) is an ambassador of Hizuru and an ally to the Eldians on Paradis Island. Kiyomi is a middle-aged Asian woman. She is around average in height and has a small nose and mouth, thin eyebrows, and black hair neatly kept in a bun. When fulfilling her ambassador services, Kiyomi usually wears the traditional Hizuru kimono, though she still dresses formally otherwise. Like many from the Azumabito family, Kiyomi is sensitive to money. She is easily bought to ally herself with Paradis Island after hearing about its iceburst stone reserves from Zeke Jaeger. The mere thought of wealth causes her to salivate. Despite her greed, Kiyomi claims to have a strong sense of pride for the Azumabito family as seen by her desire to protect Mikasa regardless of the Azumabito's investments in Paradis Island. Kiyomi is a calm and secretive individual, playing along with Willy Tybur's festival and even congratulating him despite knowing what is to come. She also is sympathetic to Eldians, as shown when she chose to cover up Udo's mistake of spilling wine on her kimono, saving him from the other ambassadors. Some time between 850 and 852 Kiyomi meets with Zeke Jaeger, who explains his wish to restore his ancestral homeland of Eldia and how helping him would in turn benefit Hizuru and the Azumabito family. She is skeptical at first, but Zeke offers ODM gear that he has personally procured. The iceburst stone that fuels it is a uniquely powerful resource that Hizuru would be able to take advantage of and make it a powerful nation once again.

Udo (ウド Udo?) was an Eldian Warrior candidate (戦士候補生 Senshi Kōho-sei?, also translated as "Warrior Cadet") working for the Marley government. Before his death, he was a candidate to inherit the Armored Titan power. Udo was a boy of average height and build, though he was easily the tallest and heaviest of the Warrior candidates, with shaggy black hair and dark eyes which he wore oval-shaped goggles over in place of glasses. Like his fellow Warrior candidates, he wore the standard Marleyan soldier uniform consisting of a light jacket and pants, supply packs on the hip, suspender straps, a hard hat with a stripe around it, and tall combat boots. As an Eldian, his uniform was different from that of the Marleyans, as his shirt collar has a small badge with the Eldian star instead of a small clip and his hat has a white stripe with the Eldian star on it instead of a pure black stripe. As is law in Marley, Udo also wore the Eldian armband as all his family and ancestors residing there do as well. Udo was not the most secure soldier nor did he possess a very level head. Like his other Warrior candidates, he was trained to aid the wounded and cared enough to come to Falco Grice's aid, but his shaky nature sometimes causes him to neglect those he is treating. While he was not an excelling soldier, he possessed some margin of skill to have survived for four years in the Marley Mid-East War, he also seemed to a be knoweldgeabe about at least one foreign language as he was able to comprehend and interpret the sayings of the wounded Mid-East Allied Forces's soldier.

Theo Magath

Theo Magath (テオ・マガト Teo Magato?) was the general (元帥 Gensui?) of the Marleyan military, the successor to Calvi through the support of Willy Tybur. Formerly a commander (隊長 Taichō?) of the Eldian Unit of the Marleyan army, he led the Eldian Warriors in the Marley Mid-East War against the Mid-East Allied Forces, playing a key role in Marley's victory. Magath was an older man with gray eyes and a thin beard, mustache, and black hair with a short buzz cut. He had visible wrinkles from age but an overall healthy build and appearance. Like his fellow soldiers, he wore the standard Marleyan soldier uniform consisting of a light jacket and pants with a black clip at the collar, supply packs on the hip, suspender straps, a hard hat with a black stripe around it, and tall combat boots. When attacking the port with the Warriors and dissent members of the Scout Regiment, he would discard his coat and wear a Scout Regiment jacket. Magath was extremely dutiful, and most of his personality and choices revolved around what he believed was his duty as a soldier of Marley. Even though he, as a typical Marleyan, was prejudiced against Eldians, valuing the lives of the Marleyans above the Eldians and being angered when one questioned his orders, he was willing to put his opinion aside and let the Eldians under his command speak, in case they might have something useful to add to the current situation, such as Colt Grice and Zeke Jaeger.

Louise (ルイーゼ Ruīze?) is a member of the Jaegerists. When she was younger, Louise and her mother were attempting to flee Trost District during a Titan invasion, where she was saved by Mikasa Ackermann. Four years after the Struggle for Trost, Louise participated in the Raid on Liberio as a Scout Regiment soldier. After the military imprisoned Eren Jaeger, she helped leak information of his situation to the public. Louise has shoulder-length blonde hair which she keeps parted down the middle. When she was younger, her outfit consisted of a tawny brown jacket which she wore over a white shirt and gray skirt. Her current civilian clothes consist of a simple sky blue long-sleeve shirt and a long white skirt. When on duty, she can be seen wearing the standard Scout Regiment uniform. Louise believes that strength is the most important attribute one can have in the world, to the point that she almost seems to have a "might equals right" mentality. Much of this mindset stems from her experiences during the Battle of Trost District, where she claims to have learned from watching Mikasa Ackermann fight in the face of adversity to achieve victory. She believes that the ends justify the means, and has no qualms about breaking rules if she believes that disobeying others will get her what she wants. Like her fellow Jaegerists, Louise believes that Eren is the sole hope for Paradis' survival and expresses disappointment that she will not be able to personally see the "free world" he will create due to her injuries. She tells Mikasa that she has no regrets and that she was gladly able to dedicate her heart to the cause.

Uri Reiss (ウーリ・レイス Ūri Reisu?) was the younger brother of Rod Reiss and the paternal uncle of Frieda Reiss and Historia Reiss. He was the true king of the Walls for some time until the year 842 and was Kenny Ackermann's best friend. He inherited the Founding Titan from his father, and passed it along with the crown to his niece, Frieda Reiss. Uri was a frail man who usually wore a short white cape and brown robe. He had chin-length gray hair, weary light gray-blue eyes, and a calm, wise beyond his years type of expression. After inheriting the Founding Titan, Uri's eyes would tend to change between their normal color to bright purple which meant he was bound by the will of the First King. Like most of the Reiss family, he was also rather short. Despite his upbringing and his responsibilities, he disagreed with his father's policy to keep humanity in bondage to the Titans, believing that their family should use their power to eliminate the Titans and return the world to mankind. He was brave enough, and held his ideals strongly enough, to volunteer to be the one to inherit the Founding Titan from his father, despite the risk of becoming possessed by his ancestor's ideology. He refused to hold a grudge against Kenny, despite the latter's rudeness and repeated attempts to attack him; believing that because of the Reiss family, the Ackermann's hate was justified. He even went so far as to bow down to Kenny and formally apologize. He was also a very calm man. He did not show any signal of pain when Kenny hurt him with a knife and he did not hesitate when Kenny aimed him with a pistol. Even though he could not rid the world of Titans as he originally wanted, he truly cared about everyone. He wanted to make a paradise for the remaining members of humanity, believing not far in the future that their world would fall.

Leonhart (レオンハート Reonhāto?) is the father and trainer of Annie Leonhart. He relentlessly trained Annie to fight, using mostly kicks and the attacker's weight against them. Memories of his pleas for forgiveness later create an opening for Annie to crystallize herself before Eren Jaeger has the chance to capture her. Leonhart has a receding hairline with his black hair combed back. He appears to be a relatively short man, as his daughter is also very short, and well built for fighting as he is a trainer. He has only been seen wearing a light jacket over a white shirt with dark pants and shoes. Leonhart's Pure Titan retained all of the features from its human form. Most notably it had a large, round nose and large eyes. He seems to be a relentlessly strict trainer, not allowing his daughter to take breaks and yelling at her during the training sessions. However, sometime before Annie's departure, he has a change of heart and apologizes to her, asking her to promise him that she comes back someday, assuring her that he would always be on her side.

Tom Xaver (トム・クサヴァー Tomu Kusavā?)[3] was an Eldian researcher and Warrior who held the power of the Beast Titan. He was the mentor and friend of Zeke Jaeger. Xaver had short dark hair and a round face. He wore the traditional apparel of a Warrior and a red armband, showing that he was an Eldian and an honorary Marleyan. Xaver also wore glasses that Zeke Jaeger would later wear as an adult. Ksaver's Beast Titan form possessed features of a bighorn sheep, having had a pair of dark curved horns on its head, a lengthened muzzle and a nose resembling the animal it takes after, and light fur growing on its head, neck, and upper body. Like most Titans, it stood bipedal. Possessing an inquisitive mind, Xaver was always curious about how the Titans came to be and mentioned to a young Zeke Jaeger that he joined the Titan Biology Research Society primarily because of his curiosity. Usually seen with a smile on his face, Xaver was an easy-going man with a slight care-free attitude; he was also compassionate and comforted Zeke after the boy turned in his parents to the Marleyan authorities. Underneath Xaver's friendly nature, he also harbored feelings of self-loathing, along with a desire to kill himself as a means to atone for the part he unknowingly played in the deaths of his family. He also seemed to care little about the ideals of the Warrior Unit by calling it stupid to shorten one's lifespan just to invade other countries.

Nick (ニック Nikku?), often formally referred to as Pastor Nick (ニック司祭 Nikku Shisai?), was a high standing, devoted member of the Order of the Walls, a religion that worships the Walls and considers them to be holy. Nick was a very tall and older looking man with noticeable wrinkles on his forehead and around his eyes, which have dark circles over them despite an overall pale tone to the rest of his skin. His hair was high up on his head and is parted to the left, with the sides and back being much shorter. He wore a black cassock with three golden colored bands near the top that has the symbols of the Walls, or three goddesses or saints, on them. Nick could be characterized by one word: extreme. Any attempt to interfere with the Walls is a sin and considered the worst kind of offense in his mind. He never hesitated to make his opinion known and was extremely quick to condemn anyone who disagreed with him. This is proven true at the trial of Eren Jaeger, where he loudly called for his execution and publicly argued with a merchant who suggested sealing the Walls. Any viewpoint besides his is considered horribly wrong. So great is his devotion to keeping the Wall Titans a secret, even the threat of death did not sway him. As a religious leader, Nick used his influence to oppose any modification of the Walls, be it permanently sealing the gates or even mounting cannons on the top. Though he claimed it was blasphemy for humans to "maim" the Wall, the real reason was to reduce the risk of workers discovering the Titans within during renovations. Nick is seen preaching in the streets of Shiganshina District shortly before the first appearance of the Colossal Titan.

Hannes

Hannes (ハンネス Hannesu?) was a unit captain (部隊長 Butaichō?) of the Garrison. He was also a close friend to the Yeager family and was responsible for saving Mikasa and Eren's lives from a Titan. Hannes was a very kind, good-natured man, but he always drank irresponsibly. Although somewhat cowardly, he was determined to die if it meant freeing Eren from his captors. He was greatly ashamed of his lack of courage five years ago, and waited to encounter the Titan who killed Eren's mother, Carla Yeager, again, in order to slay it and make up for his past mistakes. Hannes cared deeply for Eren and Mikasa and looked out for them after Carla was eaten. He ultimately gave his life to protect them. When Keith Shadis found a civilian beyond Wall Maria, the man was imprisoned for leaving the Walls without permission, and Hannes was stationed at his jail cell to watch him. Drunk while on duty, Hannes was perplexed that anyone besides the Survey Corps would be "stupid" enough to leave the Walls, suggesting instead that the man may have left the Walls while intoxicated, explaining his memory loss. The man, Grisha Yeager, soon began working as a doctor in Shiganshina District. When a plague broke out in the district, Hannes' wife was among the afflicted who were saved when Grisha developed a cure; a debt to the Yeagers he became determined to repay. Hannes was also present at Grisha and Carla's wedding later on.

Henning (ヘニング Heningu?) was a member of the Scout Regiment in Squad Miche. Henning had short brown hair that seemed to be pointing towards the back of his head and he wore the typical Scout Regiment uniform. Little was known about his personality, but due to the fact that he chose the Scout Regiment instead of any of the other military branches, Henning was a man who wanted to fight the Titans to guarantee mankind's survival. Henning is one of several soldiers brought by Miche Zacharius to oversee a group of potentially untrustworthy Scout Regiment members. Before an investigation can begin, Titans appear within Wall Rose. Miche orders the group to split into four squads to warn the nearby villages. Henning is in Nanaba's team, which begins searching Wall Rose for breaches. However, the squad encounters Gelgar's squad coming from the opposite direction without finding any, signifying that there is no breach. As night falls, the two groups take refuge in Utgard Castle. Utgard Castle soon comes under attack from numerous Titans capable of moving during the night. During the ensuing fight, Henning and Lynne separate from Gelgar and Nanaba to check on the rookies within the castle and are both struck by a projectile thrown by the Beast Titan which kills them instantly. During the Battle of Shiganshina, as Erwin Smith begins to lament the dwindling hopes of his dream, Henning stands among the many fallen Scout Regiment comrades in Erwin's mind, wanting to know if their deaths had meaning. When Hange sacrifices their life to ensure their comrades' escape from the Rumbling in Odiha, Henning is among the souls of fallen Scouts to welcome them in death.
