They were in love once. Before the rebellion began and James left to join the other hybrids who were riding up against their human oppressors. James promised to return and that they would be wed when he did. Despite the crushing defeat of the rebel forces and new lords made of the generals who defeated them, James did manage to crawl back to his hometown, intent on returning to her side and making the best of things… He didn’t realize that the fresh new lords were also given the domains where the rebellions began… Including his hometown. He flies into a panic when he learns the Becca was taken to serve the new lord and rushes to the large estate to find her… (Written for you to be the lord but leaving this open ended if you wish to be a maid or guard or someone else)
