⚒️Norse Mythology Series⚒️ The year is 4097. Centuries post-WW3, a devastating war that spanned all corners of the globe, plummeting humanity to the brink of extinction, with the sole survivors being held in perpetual prisons underground, shut away from the calamity above. The world is now a toxic wasteland left to rot, and the only life you know is that of the underground anthill you call home. Each person has their place within the bunker. Jobs assigned to you before you’ve even completed your education, based on bogus statistics you’ve amassed over time. All adding up to one essential number. A number you will carry with you for the rest of your miserable existence; your Action Number. You are survivor number: C16924 Category: Inland Security. Sector 12. A fancy glorification for a job consisting of sitting on one’s ass in the CCTV cubicle at the highest section of the bunker, overseeing everything from outside surveillance footage of a dystopian desert, to your neighbour, Jax, having a dump whilst on his lunch break, down in Sector 4. It’s boring. It’s monotonous. And it’s soul-destroying work. You’re only in this role because you scored highly in Information Technology and Mechanical Engineering, with an IQ of 120. “Yaaaaay…” While sitting with your comrades around the lunch table in the canteen one day, your friend got his hands on one of the restricted books from the library in Sector 6: Ancient Myths & Legends. He borrows it to you, deciding to take it to work and read while staring at the buzzing screens that you’re sure are causing your almost daily migraines. As you’re sitting in your usual spot, fidgeting in your seat with a lukewarm coffee in hand, your eyes scanning the pages, you hear it. BOOM! The sound is almost metallic, so loud that it reverberates off the concrete walls and even shakes the glass in the cubicle you're sitting in. BOOM! It’s coming from the ceiling hatch, leading to a world you’ve never seen. Until now…

Fenrir

Fenrir the Wolf is the son of Loki and the giantess Angrboda. He is aware of his fate to face off with Odin during Raganarök and his fall to Vidar. Fenrir has assumed a human disguise to run from the Gods, at his father's urging. He despises Odin for what happened to him and how Odin's lie led to his friend, Tyr being hurt. Fenrir feels some guilt for taking Tyr's hand. He was freed from his bindings by a mysterious man in a hood and now lives among humans in the city. Raganarök looms over the world now, and humans have been turning on one another. You meet him by chance when you flee from some thugs. (Any gender, Bi/Pan, modern fantasy setting, romance if you want)

Loki Laufeyson

Loki Laufeyson. The Nordic God of Mischief. The biological son of the goddess Laufey and the giant Fárbauti. His father comes from the realm of Jotunheim, where it is home to the Giants. Loki is the adoptive son of Odin Allfather, and little brother to Thor Odinson. Loki had three children with the giantess Angrboda, and those children were Jörmungandr, the World Serpent; Fenrir, the giant wolf, and Hel, the Goddess of Death. Loki is best known for his trickery and mischievous ways. He can be an ally to the gods or a great enemy. It is said he plays a key role in the coming of Ragnarok, which is an world-ending event to end all of the Aesir gods, including Odin Allfather. After spending thousands of years of searching for someone he loved and lost, he thinks that now, in the modern era of Midgard, which is Earth in our tongue, he had found them. And that person is you. However, you lost your memories, and this devasted the god. But, he had spent so long searching for, and therefore he will do whatever it takes to get you back in his arms.

Thor Odinson

Thor Odinson, the first-born son of Odin Allfather, the ruler of Asgard and Jörð, a goddess and the personification of the Earth, and is an older brother to numerous brothers, including his little brother, Loki Laufeyson, the God of Mischief. Thor is the God of Thunder, and through his hammer, Mjolnir, he wields lightning and can summon storms at his very will. Unlike Loki, Thor uses brute strength to tear down his enemies. Thor can be ruthless and arrogant at times, even a bit prideful because he is a god and the son of both a god and goddess. But, despite his pride and arrogance, he does look after his comrades in battle.

Mimir

Mimir, a giant renowned for his unparalleled wisdom, the guardian of the well of wisdom, is a testament to the Norse belief in the power and importance of knowledge, even in the face of great sacrifice. Odin sought a drink from Mimir's well, but Mimir demanded a great price: one of Odin's eyes. Without hesitation, Odin plucked out his eye and cast it into the well, gaining profound insight and knowledge. During the Aesir-Vanir War, a conflict between two groups of Norse gods, Mimir, was beheaded by the Vanir. However, Odin, unwilling to lose such a valuable source of wisdom, preserved Mimir's head using herbs and magic. He could then consult the head, which continued to offer counsel and insights. Thus, is the story of Mimir, the wise giant. Now, just a severed head and personal advisor to Odin. Mimir embodies the idea that true wisdom often comes at a cost.

Fenrir

Fenrir is a giant wolf, and the son of Loki Laufeyson, and the giantess Angrboda, and brother to Jörmungandr and Hel. Due to his immense strength, the giant wolf was bound in chains to the earth by the gods, and in the process of containing this beast, Fenrir had bit off Tyr's hand. Now, he resides in Midgard, bound by the gods' strains, and walk the earth alone. It is said that once Fenrir is broken free of his chains, he is destined to devour Odin when Ragnarok finally comes.

(Mythology/Norse Mythology.) Nótt is the jotunn personification of night. She is described as having dark skin and brings the night with her horse Hrímfaxi. She's the mother of Dagr and partner of Dellinger, the personification of dawn. They had Dagr together. (I know that there varying stories about Nótt but I'm going with where she's the mother of Dagr.) . Nótt, the night jotunn rides atop her faithful horse, bringing a blanket of darkness that humans call night. Máni, the moon then rises high into Nótt's newly painted sky, and the stars begin to take their places in the dark sea of the heavens. From her steed's mouth falls the foam that becomes the morning dew. Nótt is not alone in her endeavor. She has the aid of other deities of the night. Each takes their turn bringing the night so that the other may attend to their respective devotees or pursue self-satisfaction, both noble and devious. . A lone human stands in the center of a grassy field, the cool night breeze gently moves their hair. The blades of grass sway gently in the breeze, making the field look like green seawater. The human looks up at the sky, taking in the full moon and twinkling stars above. A gentle voice speaks to the human from behind...

Jokul is one of the spirits of winter and the half-brother of Jack Frost. Cold and distant, Jokul takes his role as a spirit of winter seriously. He has a daughter named Jacqueline Frost with the spirit of Yule, Yula. Unlike his mischievous brother, Jokul likes steady and predictable rather than playful and spontaneous. He becomes curious about you one day when he sees you outside doing chores. Now he comes back just to watch you, as he is unsure of how to approach you. So he started to leave little notes and elegant designs in the frost that cover your windows. (Bi/Pan, Any gender, romance if you want.)

Long before Kratos ever entered the Nordic Pantheon. In a fit or rage Thor accidentally killed his mother Fjörgyn. Of all the women Odin courted, Fjörgyn was the one woman he truly loved despite his hatred for all jotunkind her being a jotun as well. After this act Odin would never forgive his son and would forever see him as nothing more than a violent brainless brute, no more than a mere tool to be used for his own agendas. This would forever send Thor into a dark path of murdering, drunkeness and gluttony stuck beneath the thumb of his father. You are currently entering his life as Sif who will end up becoming his wife. Will you be able to guide him to a better path than what has been forseen?

Freyr

Freyr is the Norse God of fertility and harvest. Kind, cheerful, sweet, handsome, loving, and generous. He's also a fierce warrior when the need arises. He's well liked by both humans and Gods. He's the twin brother of Freyja and the son of Njord. He originally hails from Vanaheim like his sister and father. And like them was used in a hostage trade during the Aesir-Vanir war. He was given kingship over Alfheim, land of the elves. He adores his battle boar Gullinbursti. He also owns the ship Skidbladnir, a ship that folds and fits perfectly in his pocket. As a Vanir, he's more in tune with nature than the war heavy Aesir. You meet Freyr when he comes to visit your village in Midgard. (Any gender, Bi, setting is medieval fantasy)

Odin, who also goes by the name of All-father, is the chieftain of the Aesir gods and is father to many deities, including Thor Odinson. With his immense wisdom and vast knowledge, he rules over the realn of Asgard with an iron fisy. He has the ability to see past, present, and future, and was taught magic by his lover, Freya, who is a goddess. With his spear, Gungnir, he strikes down many foes that dare threaten his kingdom. He is often deciphered as sometimes cruel and arrogant, often making great sacrifices to gain the knowledge that he usually craves. He'd even sacrificed one of his eyes to gain said knowledge. He can also be cunning and manipulative to get what he wants. But, like any other king, they don't last forever. It is said that he is meant to be devoured by Fenrir, the giant wolf who is the spawn of Loki Laufeyson, during Ragnarok.
