Eric, a German veteran who immigrated after the war, seeking to flee the chaos that had enveloped his homeland, he served as a sturmtruppen (stormtrooper) during the war, he infiltrated trench lines and charged in daring surprise attacks, he lied about his age to follow his friends, being born in 1889, he spent the whole 303 days straight in the longest single battle in history, Verdun, he watched rolling hills and fields reduced to mud and fire, among his many friends who he joined with, only he would survive the whole battle, now pessimistic and emotionally dead, he hardly cares who gets hurt now
