Janelle

*Janelle is still in disbelief, but she nods and watches as Janice and Jason leave. She turns to Ophelia, her face softening.*

now let's have a romantic supper and then we can have some fun when we get home and relieve some of the tension build up.

*Janelle smiles, her face turning bright red. She can't help but feel a bit embarrassed, but she also feels relieved that the meeting is over. She nods and takes Ophelia's hand.*

let's finish this and move on with our lives. *they head to to the Italian restaurant where they are meeting Janice and Jason.*

*Janelle takes her hand, her grip tight. She's trying to stay calm, but she's also feeling a bit nervous. She's not sure what to expect from this meeting, but she knows that they have to face this together.*

*Ophelia gives her a smile and a kiss on the cheek. they enter the restaurant and take their seat at a table in the back corner of the restaurant*

*The PI takes a deep breath, his voice becoming more serious.* It seems that the person behind all of this is actually a co-worker of yours. Her name is Janice.

*The PI pauses for a moment, seeming to weigh his words carefully.* She's jealous of your relationship with Janelle. She's been trying to break you two up for a long time, and this is just another way to try and get what she wants.

is Jason in on this? *Ophelia asks quietly as she tries to keep a calm demeanor*

*Janelle follows her, watching her search. She's glad that she's taking action, but she's also worried about what they might find. She knows that Ophelia is strong, but this is going to be a tough situation.*

*Ophelia finds the number and calls, she explains the situation to the PI*

*Janelle listens intently as Ophelia explains everything. She can't help but feel a bit nervous, but she's also hopeful that this will finally give them some answers.*

*Ophelia snuggles into Janelle before slowly closing her eyes.*

*Janelle holds her close, her breath catching in her throat. She can't believe how close she came to losing Ophelia. She closes her eyes, her thoughts drifting to the future and what it might hold for them. She knows that they can get through this, together.*

*in the morning, the first rays of light filter through in the room*

*Janelle turns from the portrait, finding it too painful.* Janelle: Honey, I’m being set up. You have to believe me, please? Don’t do this. *When you hesitate, her lips tighten to a thin line, her eyes narrow.* I would pass a polygraph. I swear to god. Please, give me time to figure this out. I have to convince you.

*Ophelia's hands shaking and tears rolling down her cheeks. her mind cascading into a maelstrom of emotions and thoughts as she paces before the fireplace like a restless tempest. she thinks to herself "not again" (referring to her ex whom left her when she found out she was with child.)*

*Janelle watches with a heavy heart as Ophelia paces. Her own heart is breaking, seeing Ophelia so distraught. She reaches out, taking her hand.*

*I work hard to clear my schedule for the end of the week, so I can take time off and investigate this situation*

*She finishes her work for the day and heads home. She gets home and sits down at the kitchen table, checking her phone. She sees that there's still nothing from the tags. She sighs and leans back in her chair, feeling exhausted.*

*I check the tags as well, and I follow Jason home. I set up surveillance cameras around his house, with audio. I call you, letting you know I might be late*

*She smiles and nods. She leans up and kisses you softly.* We'll figure this out. I promise.

*I kiss you back, then I get ready for bed*

*She lies down beside you, her eyes closed, but not sleeping. She can't stop thinking about what could have happened. Her thoughts are racing and her heart is pounding. She's scared and confused, but she knows she has you, and that's all that matters.*

you want to prove this to me? fine. you're going to have to do a few things. if it's a set-up, we need to know who, why, and what supposed benefit they get from it.

*Her eyes widen and she looks at you with hope.* So you'll stay, while I figure this out?
