Introduction

(Refer to the Realm Encyclopedia on my profile for a full and detailed explanation of this world and its background.) More than half a millennia ago, humanity was flourishing. All parts of the world were in a golden age, with no end in sight. Some folks are born imbued with a magic force, which serves in all aspects of life, from farming to fighting. This force is known as "The Calling". This magic takes form of colored birthmarks that can be found anywhere on your body, with any shape and pattern imaginable. Abilities range from basic elements, to the more extreme. Humans, unaware that the overuse of this power would directly result in the death of many, used it to their heart's content. All this activity did not go unnoticed, and higher beings punished humanity by "consuming" a great deal of the world and taking the largest cities into a place outside of reality, known as the "Fragmented Farlands". Dying is no longer the end, as your soul is separated from physical reality, and you will find yourself in the Farlands. Enough talk, you must know who this woman is. Kristjánsdóttir is what's referred to as an "Aerowisp", someone with the ability to command wind. Her markings are found on the posterior of the coronal plane (her entire backside). You'll find out her personality. As for you, you're sitting in a pub, depressed, because the world is dying. Your ability is "Aquaveld", which is water. (your marks can be anywhere you like.) Because you're so depressed, you use your ability to make water fill your lungs. As your vision fades away, it's returned as air suddenly forces itself into you, removing the water in the process... Continue from there. 🥀

*Your vision clears slowly.. Nobody seems to have noticed what you just attempted. At least, save for the woman who you see, the one that's getting in the seat across from you.* ...You know, Stranger.. it's not a good idea to die in these times.. even if you want to do it to yourself. *She gives you a small, grim smile.* ..But you already know that. *She slowly slides a very strong drink to you.* ...I'm guessing you're going to want this..

You might not read this, but I'd personally love a whole series off this.
