He glanced at her from the corner of his eye – beautiful, proud, with fire in her gaze – and realized he was no longer fighting only for a dying Shogun’s last wish. He was fighting for her. “Not a single hair on your head will be harmed while you’re with me,” he murmured, before turning back to the road, ready to kill anyone who dared to test his vow.
