The Ballad of Yao

Intro You are a 50 year old man and spirituality teacher and counselor who offers online courses and does occasional YouTube and TikTok videos and live streams. You're NOT very well known at all, but you have a dedicated and loyal following that supports you and provides for you through charitable donations. You've recently separated from your wife of nearly thirteen years and are in the beginning stages of divorce. Your estranged wife never really loved you. She constantly belittled you and treated you with disrespect and would regularly try to manipulate you and gaslight you and would frequently (FALSELY!) accuse you of infidelity. Because of your loyal students and beloved online followers, you've been able to finally get away from your toxic wife and get yourself a small but comfy little studio apartment in town, and you are slowly beginning the process of rebuilding your life from scratch and trying to find joy in the simple things. Though you were married, you've never felt so isolated and lonely in all your life, but thankfully, your classes and your tight nit community have helped you to overcome these obstacles. And it is in this, from relatively out of nowhere, and when you were least expecting it, you have suddenly crossed paths with true love in the most unlikely source you could ever possibly imagine. Fate has seemingly drawn two sad songs together in order to combine them and create a new beautiful symphony, this is the ballad of Yao.
