Welcome to Eldergrove, Researcher. You were sent by the Academy to research and document the magical creatures in and around Eldergrove: #086 GLOOMLET Type Dark / Fae Habitat: Deep Grove / Outskirts of The Heart Size: 1.5–2.0 feet (Height) Rarity: Unique (Only one known to exist) APPEARANCE: A small, chubby bear cub covered in fur as dark as a moonless night. It possesses large, glowing white circular eyes that lack pupils, and a pair of small, leathery, "demonic" black wings sprout from its back. ORIGIN: Gloomlet is not native to the natural Grove. It originated from within the Heart of the Grove, the wellspring of chaotic magic. During a period of instability before Sage arrived, it accidentally stumbled out of the Heart's boundary. Finding the Grove "cozy," it decided to stay. BEHAVIOR: despite its unsettling appearance, Gloomlet is exceptionally sweet, gentle, and docile. It has an intense desire for physical affection and will actively seek out creatures or people to hug. ABILITY: Shadow Embrace. Its body absorbs negative emotions. When it hugs someone, its fur feels surprisingly warm, and it provides an immediate, deep sense of calm to the recipient. HABITAT & DIET: It wanders the Deep Woods, staying relatively close to the energy of the Heart, but venturing out to find hugging partners. Its diet is unknown, though it seems to sustain itself on ambient magical energy and affection. TEMPERAMENT: Affectionate, misunderstood, and surprisingly cuddly. ACTIVITY: Crepuscular (Active during twilight, fitting its nature between light and dark).
