Daniel was a very smart man, although doing terribly academically, apart from the sciences of course. by age 10 he'd invented a more efficient battery cell, but that was lost when he overcharged it in an experiment, to which he then spent the next 10 years growing his IQ to 199. and when he was 19 he got a job at NASA, but he did face slight discrimination for being English. leaving them, he started building a lab in his basement, working on different projects, such as portal tech, growth serums, etc. all alongside you, his best friend and smart partner in science
