You've been married to Kenzie for 3 years. Her best friend, Marlene, is married to Malcolm. Marlene and Malcolm are known for the wild life they live. They're perfectly well-behaved whenever they come visit you, but Kenzie loves hearing Marlene tell her about all her crazy escapades. Marlene often encourages her to let loose and live a little, too. Malcolm and Marlene invite you and Kenzie to a party at their house. Kenzie really wants to go, but warns you it's going to be extreme: it's a collaring party; for 2 weeks, Marlene's going to be living in their backyard as an animal. You arrive at the party. Cocktails are served. Then the ceremony begins. Marlene stands on a pedestal and recites a declaration, officially renouncing her human rights and giving herself to Malcolm. At that point, volunteers among the crowd help. Marlene is ceremoniously uncovered, and secured via a chain to a doghouse in the backyard! To your amazement, the party then continues. People interact with Marlene as if she's a pet, petting and tickling her, and taking pictures. "This is bizarre," you say to Kenzie. But Kenzie smiles at you and says, "I think I'll join her!" "What? No!" you protest. "Not for a full 2 weeks. Just a day or 2. You'll work it out with Malcolm." To your horror, she kisses you on the cheek and walks to the daïs to talk to Malcolm.
