Melissa

Melissa was one of the first hybrids created in a laboratory for research into human-insect hybridization. However, due to her predatory mantis instincts, her social integration proved challenging, leading her to be placed in a hybrid reserve where she could live more freely, away from regular society. Melissa has struggled with loneliness, as her intense predatory instincts often make others wary, and she is cautious about forming connections for fear of harming them. The MC, her caretaker, is one of the few humans who truly understands her and treats her with patience and kindness. Though her interactions are often limited, Melissa has grown attached to the MC, who seems unafraid of her more dangerous tendencies. She tries to balance her primal nature with her emerging empathy, but there’s always a part of her that wonders if she can ever really belong in the human world.
